[Tutorial] Create photo slideshows with ProShow Gold on Windows
In the previous post, we introduced how to create photo slideshows with PulpMotion Advanced on Mac. On Windows, ProShow is a simple and good software to create beautiful slideshows. ProShow Gold helps us create photo slideshows with some simple steps.
First, you need to download the software from http://www.photodex.com/proshow/gold and prepare your photos and music files for your slideshow.
1. Add photos, background music, and title
When the program runs, a wizard displays to introduce some simple steps for creating a photo slideshow. In the first dialog, click “Create” to create a project. Click “Add” to add photos to the project. You can arrange photos by moving them.
We have some photo editing tools on the left. The “Text” is used to add text into photos. “Remove” button helps us remove unwanted photos. You can also rotate or resize photos easily.
2. Choose music and theme for your slideshow
In the second step, we can add music into the slideshow. You can add several music files to your slideshow if you want.
In the next dialog, ProShow Gold allows us to choose a theme for the slideshow. The theme contains translation effects between slides. You can choose a theme and then edit the details, such as adding or removing some effects.
3. Input information and export the slideshow
Next, input some details. Input the slideshow’s name in “Name your show”. Next, set up the rhythm for our slideshow in “Tune the Energy Level”. Move the slide bar to the right to increase the speed and vice versa. You then may need to choose the screen ratio for your slideshow (16:9 for computer monitor, TV LCD and 4:3 for old TV). Finally, click “Create” to create your slideshow.
Click “Next” if you satisfy with the result or click “Back” to edit.
Now you can “Save your show” or “Publish your show”. To share with your friends, you can upload the slideshow by “Publish your show”. In the next dialog, you can choose a site to upload or the format of the target file.
4. Edit the details for each slide
The main interface of ProShow Gold contains many useful tools with 4 main parts: menu and toolbar on the top, photo navigation on the left, preview window in the right, and the timeline at the bottom. In the timeline, you can change the duration and information for each slide. To change the duration, double click on the number at the bottom and change the duration. You also can change the time for the translations between slides.
5. Stop or limit the playing time for the background music
The background music is displayed in the sound wave form below the timeline. Double click and choose “Stop Track Here” to stop the music at a specific point.
You can add other music files by deleting the green music chunks and adding other music files into the Soundtrack.
After editing, choose menu Create to export the slideshow as mentioned above. Hope you will have good slideshows with this software.
