A small trick helps you to check your network signal with number instead of signal icon. It should be helpful when you are in areas having weak network signal. To display signal strength number, dial *3001#12345#* and press Call:

iPhone will open Field Test app and signal strength will display on the top-left corner of your phone. The signal strength is measured in dB. The higher number shows the better signal strength and the maximum signal value is 0.

Although the game has been withdrawn from sale on Apple App Store and Google Play, many people still play it on their phones. This post doesn't tell you how to play this game and gain high score but how to get rid of ads as I guess some people may feel bothersome because the ads keep displaying while playing.


You can remove the ads easily by turning on "Airplane mode" before playing. Without Internet connection, the ads won't appear anymore and you can enjoy the game more :-) In the case you still see the ads in Airplane mode, restart the app.

Windows has several ways to sync with other platforms. You can easily find apps on iOS, Android, Symbian, WebOS, … that can sync data with Windows. For Mac users, it’s not easy to find such solution. Fortunately, now we can use SyncMate of Eltima Software to sync Mac with other platforms:

- Windows

- Android smartphones/tablets.

Set up SyncMate on Mac (host)

After downloading SyncMate, double click on *.dmg file and drag/drop SyncMate icon into Application folder. In the first running time, you can download some plug-ins that sync among devices.

First, we need to add devices/services to SyncMate by clicking on “Add connection”

Then choose platforms that you want to sync to

Now you can choose contents that you want to sync, such as Contacts, iCal, Safari Bookmarks, iPhoto, iTunes & Video, and Folders

The sync process is fast and smooth. You can sync via wifi. However, this program doesn’t show the percentage of the process

Set up SyncMate on other devices (clients)

- Android

You need to download and install SyncMate app for Android. After running this app, input IP address of Android device into the program on Mac.

To see the IP of Android device: go to Setting > Wireless & Network > Wifi setting and find the IP address there.

 

- iOS, iPad, Sony PSP

Plug cable to them. That’s it.

 

- Windows Mobile

Similar to Android devices.

This post shows how to activate the panorama function for iOS5 devices (iPhone 4 or newer, or iPad 2).

For jailbroken devices

Step 1: It’s rather simple. First, go to “cydia/manage/sources/edit/add” and input “apt.thebigboss.org/repofiles/cydia/”. You can skip this step if your device already had.

Step 2: go to search tab, find and install “Firebreak”. Now panorama is ready to use.

 

For unjailbroken devices

Step 1: you need a computer (Mac or Windows) that can connect with your device (iPhone or iPad 2).

Step 2: Download iBackupBot (for Mac or Win).

Step 3: Run iTunes and backup so that we can use iBackupBot to read and change the backup file from iTunes later. You can use previous backup file.

Step 4: Run iBackupBot and browse to the backup file as shown in the following figure:

Step 5: find and open “Library/Preferences/com.apple.mobileslideshow.plist”

Step 6: Input a new code chunk: <key>EnableFirebreak</key><string>YES</string> as shown in the following figure.

Step 7: choose Save button to save  and close the window. In iBackupBot window, choose “restore backup file” and choose “yes” to finish.

Do you want to create photo slideshows with beautiful effects to share with your friends? In this post, we will show some basic steps to create a photo slideshow with PulpMotion Advanced 3 (PA) on Mac OS (for Windows users, ProShow Gold or Windows Live Movie Maker will be a good choice)

First you need to download and install PA from http://www.aquafadas.com/en/pulpmotion/adv/download.php . If your computer is not very powerful, remember to save your work frequently!

Step 1: create a new project and add photos to project

After installing, run PA program. Go to File > New to create a new project. Choose an appropriate theme for your project. For example, herein we choose “Books” theme.

The main interface will display with 2 parts: Media Manager and working area. If you want, you can move the Media Manager window to another position.

Now you can add photos to the project by clicking on the + icon in Media Manager. Next, you need to specify the folder containing your photos and click Open. You can also use iPhoto to manage photos and add selected photos directly to Media Manager.

You can drag and drop photos to the timeline located at the bottom of the interface. There are 2 options when we drag and drop photos: Add & Format and Add Media.

Add & Format: after adding, the photos will have the format of the selected theme. To modify the settings, double click on the photos.

Add Media: only add photos to the timeline (usually using when you want to display a separate photo or a big photo). After adding, choose the photo and change its Name, Note, and Date. There is an option at the bottom to display or hide these photos in slideshow.

Step 2: modify your photos

If you want to modify photos in slideshow, double click on the photos to display the Image dialog as follows:

- Zoom: zoom in or zoom out your photos.

- Filters: apply a filter to your photos. If there is no filter, click on “Add Filter” to add some. Choose the filter and click Select to apply. To remove a filter, select it and choose “Remove Filter”. There are 5 pages of filters for you.

- Parameters: the parameters of filters.

Besides, you can crop and rotate your photos to fit the frame with the buttons on the left.

Step 3: add and modify text

First, double click on photos to access the editing dialog. Then double click on the text to edit. You can choose new font, size, color… for your text.

If you want to add more text, choose Layout tab and click “Add Text” (A icon). The text “Double click to edit” will appear in your photos.

To access advanced settings, press ‘i’ to display the Inspector dialog. In this dialog, you can change the position, orientation, background color and many more for you text.

Step 4: insert music

Click M to open Media Manager and then choose Music icon and choose you music file. Drag and drop the music file to the timeline to add it into the slideshow.

In default, the time duration for each photo is set automatically. To change this duration for each photo, click on the clock icon and choose “Media Duration”. Finally, input your desired duration.

You can add several music files to the timeline.

Step 5: preview and export

Click Play to view your result. If you want to view high quality slideshow, click on stars and choose “High Quality Preview”.

Finally, you can export the slideshow by pressing “Command + E” or choosing File > Export.

There are many options that you can choose for the target file. After clicking Export, input your file name and click Save. Now you can upload this clip to Facebook or Youtube and share with your friends.
