Top 10 most expensive companies have been bought by Google

Google just bought Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion. In 10 years, Google has bought more than 100 small and big companies. 10 biggest deals so far are listed as follows:

 

1. dMarc Broadcasting

In Jan 2006, Google bought the advertising company dMarc Broadcasting for $102 million. dMarc has been integrated in Google Adsense service. 

 

2. On2 Technologies

Google agreed to buy On2 Technologies, a video tech company, for $133 million in Feb 2010 by Google stocks. On2 designs the video tech that is used to optimize the WebM video format.

 

3. Slide.com

Slide.com, a online service, was bought by Google in Aug 2010 for $182 million. Slide.com that was found by Max Levchin is known as the 3rd app design company for Facebook. Maybe, Google bought this company for building Google+

 

4. Admeld

Google bought Admeld in June 2011 for $400 million. Admeld is a company that focuses on optimizing online ads. Google has integrated it with DoubleClick.

 

5. Postini

In July 2007, Google bought the online security and storage company Postini for $625 million. Postini provides cloud services and email filtering services which have been used in Google Gmail. This was one of the biggest deals at this time.

 

6. ITA Software

Google spent $700 million to buy travelling software company ITA Software in July 2010. Google has used its services in travelling information searching service.

 

7. AdMob

AbMod is a company focusing on online ads for mobile platform. This company was bought by Google in Nov 2009 for $750 million.

 

8. Youtube

This is most well-known and successful deal of Google. In Oct 2006, Google spent a big amount of money, $1.65 billion, to buy Youtube. After being bought, Youtube has been worked as an independent service.

 

9. DoubleClick

Before buying Motorola Mobility, Google bought DoubleClick, an online advertising company, for $3.1 billion in April 2007. Google has integrated the services of this company into Google Adsense.

 

10. Motorola Mobility

Google just bought Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion. Motorola now is one of 39 companies produces Android devices on the market.
